Yale Publishing CourseTop leaders in the publishing world will join members of the Yale faculty to present during this summer’s Yale Publishing Course, Leadership Strategies in a Time of Transition. The course will convene two separate week-long sessions addressing such topics as: managing the transition from print to multi-platform publishing; incorporating social media and apps in your publishing strategy; constructing a business strategy that maximizes new revenue streams in electronic publishing; and becoming a global publisher. The first week of the course is designed for magazine and online publishers and the second week is tailored for book and e-book publishers.

The magazine and online publishing session runs from July 10th through July 15th. The 30 or more presenters include such industry luminaries as Cynthia Leive, Editor-in-Chief, Glamour, Michela O’Connor Abrams, President, Dwell Media, and Dorothy Kalins, as well as speakers from Facebook, Flipboard, and Google.

The print and e-book publishing session takes place from July 24th through July 29th. The 30 or so presenters are publishing executives: Kirsty Melville, President, Book Division, Andrews McMeel Publishing; Leslie Hulse, Senior Vice President, Digital Business Development, HarperCollins Publishers; Liisa McCloy-Kelley, Vice President, Director Digital Production Operations, Random House, Inc., as well as speakers from Amazon and Google.
