Multimedia Reporting & Convergence Workshop

The Multimedia Reporting and Convergence Workshop from Knight Digital Media Center offers intensive week-long training that covers all aspects of multimedia news production; from basic storyboarding to hands-on instruction with hardware and software for production of multimedia stories. Participants will be organized into teams to report on a pre-arranged story in the Bay Area, and then construct a multimedia presentation based on that coverage.

The winner of this prize is entitled to an audit seat in the May 15 – 20, 2011 workshop and includes meals and lodging on the UC Berkeley campus. You will be taught skills needed to produce quality multimedia stories including: video recording and editing, photography and audio slideshows, audio recording and editing, voice coaching for narration or stand-ups, Photoshop and Web design concepts, and producing Adobe Flash interactive story graphics. InDesign CS5 with Adobe Digital Publishing Suite for iPad

This prize is a live eLearning class from Webucator, a provider of Adobe training and iPad training. You will learn to use Adobe InDesign, in conjunction with the tools in Digital Publishing Suite, to create interactive documents, complete with media and links, for publication to iPad. This course is geared toward experienced InDesign users who are familiar with basic features, such as style sheets, image placement and document management.
